International Day of Education 2025: Together, let’s make a difference!
“Quality education for all by 2030”. This United Nations goal is particularly close to our hearts and reflects our own convictions. And yet, too many children and young people around the world have no access to schooling. In light of this, and to mark the International Day of Education on January 24, we are underscoring more than ever the importance of education in our corporate initiatives. Through the following examples of Mécénat Servier partnerships, we invite you to discover the power of a commitment to solidarity!
Education has always been a key cornerstone of Mécénat Servier’s commitments.
The acquisition of fundamental knowledge, education, and more broadly culture, opens the doors for children to citizenship, employment, and the realization of their potential. Unfortunately, many do not have this opportunity. By backing nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to education around the world, we want to give them that chance.
Corinne Massin, Director of Corporate Philanthropy and General Delegate of Mécénat Servier Charity Fund.
Here are some of the concrete results achieved over the past three years with two partner organizations:
Taking action from an early age with 1001mots in France
Nonprofit organization 1001mots, which is established in 10 French départements, helps parents to awaken their children’s language skills between the ages of 0 and 3 through remote support (telephone calls, SMS advice, book mailings, etc.). Forged in 2022, the partnership with Mécénat Servier has exceeded its objectives.
Through funding, Mécénat Servier has been our main sponsor for the Yvelines (Ile-de-France) département and has played a key role in consolidating and developing our actions over the past three years.
Our multi-year partnership has enabled us to provide support to several hundred children each year, with a total of over 2,000 children between 2022 and 2024 alone. We have also been able to improve our program thanks to this valuable partnership. We have created new teaching modules (38 in all), provided ongoing training for our speech therapists, and given parents the opportunity to choose subjects adapted to their needs, etc. Our initial goal of assisting 400 families and designing 18 teaching modules has been far exceeded! Last but not least, we created an Instagram account in August 2024 to share advice from our experts, suggest ideas for activities, and strengthen the bond with parents. By mid-December, we had reached over 7,200 subscribers, including more than 500 parents who received mentoring from 1001mots.
Juliette Marti, Sponsorship Manager, 1001mots
I had no idea what it was like to take care of a baby. In Africa, many people take care of your child. When I was referred to 1001mots, I was apprehensive at first because I was afraid my child would be taken away from me. But then I received encouraging text messages, met other parents, took part in workshops, etc. And it really worked! I even kept the program going with my second child. I can never say ‘Thank You’ enough to 1001mots, which has given me so much in my life.
Carine, mother of two, Yvelines, France
Servier employees are able to lend their support to 1001mots through the skills-based sponsorship program offered by Mécénat Servier. And in 2023, a solidarity book drive was organized with their help.
Training young adults around the world with Life Project 4 Youth
Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y) is an association that helps young adults aged 17 to 24, living in conditions of exclusion and poverty, to find employment and social integration through training center programs. These include Training & Development Centers and Life Project Centers for those in urban areas, and Green Villages for those in rural areas. An agreement was signed in 2021 in Lebanon and Egypt, with a further agreement in 2024 in Indonesia. Below are the initial results.
Lebanon:
Mécénat Servier’s financial support has made it possible for 536 young Lebanese and Syrian women in conditions of extreme poverty and exclusion to enter the social and professional mainstream. In our Training & Development Center and Green Village, these young women took part in a 3 to 6-month training program in which they managed fictitious micro-businesses. This provided them with the professional skills that employers are looking for, such as English and IT skills. By the end of the training, each participant had a clear life project and was ready to pursue job opportunities. The Servier team in Lebanon also took part in company visits, mock interviews, and skills development workshops.

Egypt:
Mécénat Servier funded the creation and renovation of a Training & Development Center in Cairo. The center is designed to welcome young Egyptian women wishing to escape exclusion and shape their future. We are currently awaiting final authorization from the government. In the meantime, we already have a group of 12 young women who have been undergoing training since October 2024. In December 2024, the Servier team in Egypt visited the center and met the young women. Once authorization has been granted, we plan to organize training sessions, company visits, and work placements in collaboration with Servier employees.

Indonesia:
After several months of renovation and refurbishment work, we inaugurated our new Training & Development Center in Jakarta on January 21. With the financial support of Mécénat Servier, we were able to raise the ground level to prevent flooding in bad weather, install new doors and windows, modernize the plumbing and electrical systems, and create a new computer room where we will soon be installing computers. The center will thus offer a more modern and comfortable environment for the young people who take part in our programs.

Last November, we organized an event called ”RenoFun Week″ to connect Servier Indonesia employees with those receiving support from LP4Y during the renovation of the Jakarta Training & Development Center. The idea was for interested Servier employees to get involved in the project for 4 days, according to their schedule. Every day, around 20 employees took part. They were organized into several different teams and then tasked with sanding and painting walls, building tables, and preparing meals. Each group had the assistance of 2 or 3 young people from LP4Y Indonesia. This activity gave our employees the opportunity to interact with the youngsters, share their stories, and most importantly, to see how much of a difference even a small contribution can make.
Andika Pradipta, HR Manager, Servier Indonesia
More than 2,000 children have received help in their first years, and several hundred young people have been empowered to find employment, and that’s just the start. We are proud to share these fine achievements with you and we hope to add to them each and every year!
