The Zaouia 2nd Chance School opens its doors in Morocco

After a few months of renovation, the Training and Apprenticeship Center located in Zaouia, opens its doors, in the province of Nouaceur in Morocco!

As part of the call for projects launched by Mécénat Servier among the Group’s subsidiaries and sites, Servier Morocco and Mécénat Servier have been supporting the Franco-Moroccan non-profit organization Enfance Maghreb Avenir since 2022 for the creation and renovation of its second TAC.

This project, financed by Mécénat Servier, contributes to one of the vocations of the Charity Fund, that of being a committed player in education and social integration.

Corinne Massin, Director of Corporate Philanthropy

Created in 2006, Enfance Maghreb Avenir operates in more than 20 public schools in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of National Education and thus supports nearly 17,000 children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Greater Casablanca and Marrakech. EMA aims to promote the social integration role played by schools in Morocco through the creation or development of reception areas within educational establishments as well as TACs called “second chance schools”.

Through this project, the non-profit organization supports young people aged 15 to 20 who have dropped out of school by offering them targeted training and thus promoting their future professional integration.

Today the Zaouia Center welcomes 90 young people, including 47 boys and 43 girls. We offer training in the hotel industry, in IT and in language learning.

Najate Limet, President of EMA

These Training and Apprenticeship Centers (TAC) offer a substantial range of courses for training and acquisition of skills.

Beyond the financial support of Mécénat Servier, the skills support of Servier Morocco employees is a real added value and it will allow young people to strengthen their diverse areas of knowledge before entering working life.

We are proud to see this project come to fruition. This school makes it possible to educate young people who have left the education system and who are given a chance to have a specific job in Morocco.
